Approach
My Health Coaching Practice is underpinned by the following Institute for Integrative Nutrition concepts

Integrative Nutrition Plate

The Integrative Nutrition Plate highlights the importance of sourcing local, organic produce whenever possible and eating whole grains, high-quality proteins, plant-based fats, and water. It illustrates what an ideal mealtime plate should look like and shows the importance of proportions and portion size. The plate is also surrounded by lifestyle factors that help us to obtain optimal health, namely relationship, career, physical activity and spirituality.
Primary Food

It is not just the food we eat that contributes to our sense of nourishment and fulfillment. Our health is not only affected by the food we eat. There are so many other factors present in our daily lives such as healthy relationships, a fulfilling career, regular physical activity, and a spiritual awareness that are also key forms of nourishment. If these primary foods are well balanced, the actual food you eat becomes secondary.
Crowding Out

Many people are put off by nutrition and lack motivation to change their diet and lifestyle because they are offered long, overwhelming lists of food they can and cannot eat. The approach at IIN is different. If we eat and drink foods that are good for us, we will naturally have less room and cravings for unhealthier foods. The idea that you will crowd out the unhealthy food in your diet is very powerful and effective.
Bio-IINdividuality

We are all Bio-IINndividual with unique food and lifestyle needs. One of the main reason fad diets don’t work is due to the fact that “One person’s food is another person’s poison”. IIN takes a totally individual approach with no one-size-fits-all formula.
Deconstructing Cravings

Understanding cravings is crucial because they play a vital role in ascertaining what your body really needs. A sense of balance and harmony can only be reinstated after this process has taken place.
